Your privacy is the default
BlackBook is built on a simple principle: your personal relationship data belongs to you, not us. All contact data, notes, interaction logs, and reminders you create in BlackBook are stored locally on your device or synced privately via your personal iCloud account. We don't have access to your data, and we don't want it.
Data Storage
On-Device Storage
All contact data, notes, interaction logs, reminders, and app settings are stored locally on your iPhone. BlackBook does not transmit this data to any external server controlled by Earnestly Studios.
iCloud Sync (Optional)
If you have iCloud enabled on your device, BlackBook may use iCloud to sync data across your Apple devices. This sync is handled entirely by Apple using your personal iCloud account. Earnestly Studios does not have access to your iCloud data. Apple's privacy practices are governed by Apple's own Privacy Policy.
Authentication
Sign in with Apple
BlackBook uses Sign in with Apple for authentication. When you sign in, Apple provides us with a unique user identifier and, optionally, your name and email address. BlackBook uses this solely to associate your data with your account. We do not use this information for marketing, and we do not share it with third parties. Apple's privacy practices for Sign in with Apple are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
What we don't collect
BlackBook is not an analytics or advertising platform. We do not collect or store:
- Your contact list or address book data
- Your interaction logs, notes, or personal relationship data
- Precise location data
- Behavioral analytics or usage patterns sold to third parties
- Device identifiers for advertising purposes
Third-Party Services
BlackBook integrates with Apple services (iCloud, Sign in with Apple, Push Notifications) as described above. We do not integrate with third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics companies that would have access to your personal relationship data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
Children's Privacy
BlackBook is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If changes are significant, we will notify you via an in-app notice. Your continued use of BlackBook after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
